Yesterday was the 55th anniversary of the passing of Rockin’ Robin Roberts. Rockin’ Robin Roberts, as many of you know, was the guy who took Richard Berry‘s song, and transformed it into the garage rock prototype embraced by the Kingsmen, Paul Revere & the Raiders, the Sonics, and a gazillion other rock and roll bands.
Joe Strummer of the Clash and D. Boon of the Minutemen also died on December 22 – three days before Christmas.
Losing a loved one is a terrible thing to deal with, and it’s even worse when it takes place during the holidays.
As I wrote about this anniversary 16 years ago … for those of you that have lost someone during this moment when others tend to be joyous, my heart goes out to you. Please remember that you are not alone in your sadness.
Please take care,
