Matthew Fedak is a student pursuing a Masters degree in Creative Technologies at De Montfort University, Leicester in the UK. On his portfolio page at MatthewFedak.co.uk, one of his projects caught the eye of the LOUIE REPORT:
After being inspired by the motion picture ’24 Hour Party People’ (2002) I developed an interest in music from the post punk era of the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. In particular I had found refuge in the music of Manchester band Joy Division as fronted by Ian Curtis. The aim of this project was to record and mix the track ‘Louie Louie’ by Richard Berry as made famous by the Kingsmen in the style of Joy Division.
At his webpage, not only can you download a copy of his recording, but you can also read about the fascinating process by which he created this special tribute to the very influential British band that acknowledged LOUIE LOUIE, but never actually recorded it.
Congratulations, Matthew! You get the LOUIE of the Week Award!
