I admit it. It’s a cheap thrill, but I enjoy doing it. I like to google myself. Who would bother to mention ME in their webpages, anyway?
Wang Dang Dula! is a fun webpage to see my name acknowledged. “Butcher” Pete Hoppula has assembled quite a collection of pages dedicated to the wild side of rock ‘n’ roll music.
The first section to catch my eye was something called…
FILTHY WORLD OF ROCK’N’ROLL LYRICS !
More or less questionable pieces of early rock’n’roll, blues, r’n’b & country music
After that, I found a lot of great discographies by some underated artists I really enjoy- R.L. Burnside (rest in peace, R.L.), Hasil Adkins, Davie Allan & the Arrows, Roy Buchanan, Sugar Pie De Santo, Bobby Fuller, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Long John Hunter, the Sonics, the Wailers, and a TON of great musicians that truly deserve to be in the “rock and roll hall of fame” long before the various haircut bands of the 80’s should ever be inducted if talent, not marketing, was the main requirement of such an organization.
The real bonus was finding an excellent Richard Berry discography with songs I didn’t even know about! YOW!
Good job, Mr. Hoppula!
